Cats are already “taking over New York City” with Meet the Breeds less than two weeks away! Over fifty breeds of cats will be on hand for cat lovers to meet in person. Even some breeds like the Bengal and Havana that they may have only seen in photos or on TV.

Meet the Breeds co-hosted by the American Kennel Club (AKC) will also have dogs from every breed represented at the two-day event on October 20-21 in New York City.

Fashion shows will be held on Saturday October 20 and Sunday October 21 from noon – 1:30pm  both days. This year’s show will be bigger than last year’s show at Meet the Breeds that you can watch at http://meetthebreeds.wordpress.com/2012/10/04/cat-fashions-through-the-years/ and vote on your favorite fashion-forward kitty!

The International Cat Association (TICA) and FELIDAE Natural Cat Foods have partnered to bring the diverse world of cats to one stage as over 50 recognized breeds from TICA will be taking to the cat walk each day during the Parade of Breeds at AKC Meet the Breeds® in New York City on October 20 and 21 at Javits Center.

If you plan on attending Meet the Breeds, make sure to attend TICA’s Parade of Breeds on the main cat stage which Felidae Natural Cat Foods is sponsoring this year. More than 50 recognized breeds including the Korat, Bengal, Thai and Maine Coon will be presented by a TICA judge. You’ll learn about the diversity of type, shape, and personality as explained by an expert panel of distinguished TICA judges.

You’ll learn why the Abyssinian has an iridescent glow to the color of its coat, the history behind the Turkish Vans love of water, and if the Savannah cat “really does have an eye on the back of each ear”. And if you haven’t had the chance to travel the world, you’ll see cats representing felines from around the world including the Russian Federations Siberian, the Dalles Oregon LaPerm Cat, and Thailand’s blue cat, the Korat.
