Letter from Vickie

It's time for gathering with your family, friends and other loved ones (and that includes your cats!) for Thanksgiving. That scrumptious smell of turkey...the marshmallows browned to that perfect golden crisp on top of your sweet potatoes...and the sound of family having fun watching football, playing games or just visiting.

While this is a holiday observed only in the United States, the meaning behind Thanksgiving is global. And with that, I want to wish everyone no matter where you live a HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Don't forget your cats during this joyful time. They love turkey, so instead of feeding them off your plate, why not cook them up something the day after Thanksgiving? After you've had a few turkey sandwiches, I'm sure you'll have plenty left to make these tasty nibblers. We've included some other fun Thanksgiving things for you to do with your family (see below).

And please remember that HAPPY can turn into SAD if your feline friends are not watched during the holiday. We've included a very good article on how to keep your kitties safe...and happy!

I wish everyone-around the world-happiness as we enter the holiday season.

Recipe for Thanksgiving Turkey Nibblers

How many times has your cat watched as you enjoyed that tasty turkey on Thanksgiving? Well now you can turn turkey into a treat for your feline friends.

You can turn dark turkey meat into jerky treats really easy. All you have to do is use a conventional oven and let it slowly dry out.

Now you don't have to feel like your cats are being left out of the Thanksgiving celebration!

Keep Your Cat Safe During Thanksgiving

Meet the...American Shorthair

As it's Thanksgiving time, it's befitting to celebrate a breed founded in the United States: the American Shorthair. The American Shorthair is one of the most adaptable breeds for any type of household from a single owner to a family. Calm and affectionate, the American Shorthair is great for a senior citizen that wants a lap cap to hold and cuddle. Non-demanding, the American keeps itself entertained. A natural breed, the American Shorthair is a medium-sized cat, muscular with a firm, well-balanced body. They have easy care short, lustrous coat in a range of colors and patterns.
