Letter from Vickie
February is the month "of love". So hug your kitties
- and special person, family and friends - and tell them
how much you love them. Bet you get a big kitty kiss back
(from your cats of course!). By the way, you can show your
love for TICA all year long by ordering your TICA - logoed
wearables!
I'm really happy to announce the news that came out of
our Board of Directors meeting held in Harlingen, Texas
the end of January. We have a lot of news that came out
of this year's Winter meeting. New regional directors, new
judges, and new championship status breeds! The Board of
Directors has lost a few Regional Directors and I want to
say thank you for all of your hard work, and dedication
to TICA.
We've also made ordering your copy of the 2010-2011 Yearbook,
easy! To learn how to reserve and pay for your copy of the
Yearbook online ... read the information below.
I can't believe this is just February! It's started off
an exciting year, and I know more bigger and better things
are going to happen during 2012!
Purrs,
Vickie Fisher
TICA President

Mark Your Calendars for Meet the Breeds 2012
TICA will once again co-host Meet the Breeds with the
American Kennel Club (AKC)! It will be held in New York
City again, but this time it will be held on October 20
- 21, 2012.
More than 40,000 people visited Meet the Breeds in 2011,
and TICA was featured on several TV shows and in different
publications as a result of Meet the Breeds. The Bengal
was a big hit and many cat lovers got to meet the Bengal
in person for the very first time in New York City.
This year's Meet the Breeds is expected to be an even bigger
event for both TICA and the AKC. If you are interested in
participating in your breed booth, please contact the
Breed Committee Chair. Watch for updates as we work
on this year's event. You can see photos of the 2011 Meet
the Breeds by

Meet the ... LaPerm
During 1982 in a cherry orchard, a cat named Speedy gave
birth to six kittens. One little female kitten was hairless,
but at six weeks had developed a sparse curly coat. Named
Curly, her coat matured into a soft wavy coat ... and the
LaPerm was "born".
A lean, muscular cat with a sweet personality, the LaPerm
was granted new breed status in 1995 and Championship status
in February 2003. To learn more about the cat with a mohair
coat,
